The 5CASD3.0750-00 HMI communication cable is produced by B&R Automation within the 5CA HMI Cables series. It serves as a pre-assembled link between a control-cabinet switch and a panel-mounted operator terminal, carrying high-speed Ethernet traffic in production lines and packaging machines. The cable provides a ready-made physical layer, so field plugs do not need to be crimped during installation and wiring errors are reduced in industrial automation cells.

Its mechanical design prioritizes flame safety and flexibility. A Polyurethane (PUR) outer jacket withstands drag-chain motion and oils, while internal materials are flame-retardant, halogen-free, and lead-free to limit toxic emissions during a fire. Protection against accidental touch is classified as IP20, which is appropriate for installation inside enclosures. The cable terminates in 2x RJ45 male plugs, and each plug has eight gold-plated contacts for standard Ethernet sockets. Signal integrity is supported by a conductor layout of 4x 2x 23/1 AWG, and the solid conductors help keep impedance stable over long runs. Direct current resistance is ≤75 Ω/km, which helps limit conductor loss over longer cable lengths.

The assembly is rated for voltages of ≤125 V.
