Product Description:

The 5CASD3.0100-00 is a pre-assembled HMI Ethernet cable manufactured by B & R Automation within the 5CA HMI Cables series. It serves as the physical link between a touchscreen panel and control hardware, carrying data and power-limited signals through control cabinets and machine frames. With factory-crimped connectors already installed, the cable eliminates field termination work and provides a single assembly suited for the routing and electromagnetic compatibility demands common in industrial networks.

The assembly is equipped with 2x RJ45, male plugs, so it can connect directly to switch ports or panel sockets without adapters. Its four twisted pairs support Cat 6A / Class EA performance for Gigabit communication over short cabinet runs. Consistent signal balance is supported by a characteristic impedance of 100 ±5 Ω @ 100 MHz, which helps limit reflections in high-speed data transmission. The cable can be bent to a minimum radius of ≥5x diameter without exceeding conductor strain limits. Flexibility and electrical performance come from a conductor bundle of 4x 2x 26/7 AWG, which uses stranded conductors to support movement while keeping resistance within the published limit.

When the cable is pulled through wire ducts, it withstands axial forces of ≤70 N, which helps reduce the risk of damage during installation. Once installed, leakage paths remain low because the insulation resistance is ≥500 MΩ/km. The outer sheath is made of Polyurethane (PUR), which helps protect the cable against cutting oils and repeated motion. Repeated service access is supported because the plugs are rated for Min. 750 mating cycles. Additional shielding from the aluminum foil and tinned-copper braid helps suppress radiated noise, and the maximum operating voltage of 100 V matches typical SELV use inside control cabinets.
