The 5CASD3.0010-00 industrial Ethernet cable is produced by B & R Automation and belongs to the 5CA HMI Cables series. It links B & R operator panels with controllers, carrying both data and low-voltage supply signals between the user interface and the control system. The sheath is flame-retardant, halogen-free, and lead-free, which supports use in plant areas where smoke generation, corrosive emissions, and restricted materials must be kept to a minimum. It is intended for panel-to-controller runs inside machines and cabinets where dependable communication and low-emission cable materials are both important.

This model uses a polyurethane outer jacket that resists oil and mechanical abrasion, while the conductors follow a 4 × 2 × 26/7 AWG layout with polyethylene insulation. It terminates in two RJ45 male connectors for direct connection to standard Ethernet ports on panels, switches, or controllers. The copper conductors have a maximum resistance of 290 Ω/km or less, and the cable can be bent to a radius of at least 5x the cable diameter during installation without placing excessive stress on the twisted pairs. Insulation resistance is 500 MΩ/km or more, and the balanced pairs maintain a characteristic impedance of 100 ±5 Ω at 100 MHz to support common 100Base-T Ethernet communication. This combination helps the cable maintain stable transmission when routed through compact machine spaces and cabinet cable channels.

The cable operates at 100 V or less and has a tensile load limit of 70 N or less, so pulling force and supply levels must stay within those limits during use. Repeated connection and disconnection are supported for at least 750 mating cycles, which helps the assembly remain dependable in systems that are unplugged during service or reconfiguration. The data pairs are shielded with aluminum foil and tinned copper braid, reducing susceptibility to electromagnetic interference in cabinets that also contain drives, power supplies, and other high-noise equipment. This shielding also helps preserve stable communication where nearby switching devices and motor cables may otherwise disturb Ethernet signals.
