The 5CADPO.0018-00 is a preassembled HMI cable produced by B&R Automation within the 5CA HMI Cables series. Designed as a video link between a remote industrial PC and an operator panel, the assembly carries DisplayPort signals while maintaining the flexibility needed inside control cabinets and articulated arms. It serves as a dedicated interconnect in automation cells where panel-mounted user interfaces must be placed away from vibration or heat generated by the control hardware. This layout helps preserve a direct display connection while allowing the panel and computer to be mounted in different locations on the machine.

Each end uses two DisplayPort male plugs with 20 gold-plated contacts to carry the high-speed signal paths. The signal conductors are 30 AWG tinned copper, which keeps loop resistance at ≤381 Ω/km across the cable length. Routing is supported by a minimum static bend radius of 40 mm, helping prevent conductor stress in tight enclosures or moving sections of equipment. The contact layout routes differential pairs with low insertion loss, and the cable has a wave impedance of 100 Ω ±5% to match DisplayPort transmitter and receiver characteristics. Insulation resistance of ≥100 MΩ/m helps limit leakage between pairs during normal low-voltage operation.

The outer jacket is made of TPE, which provides oil resistance and supports repeated motion without becoming brittle. The assembly is rated for 10,000 mating cycles at the panel interface, making it suitable for repeated connection and disconnection during service or reconfiguration. The allowable system potential is limited to ≤30 V, and a tensile strength of 0.844 kg/mm² helps resist conductor stretch during installation and movement. Twin-layer F-PE and PP insulation, together with the underlying tinned-copper conductors, helps maintain signal quality in electrically noisy production areas. These material choices also support stable performance where the cable is exposed to regular bending and dense cabinet wiring.
