Product Description:
The 4D1165.00-490 is an operator interface panel manufactured by B&R Automation for the 4D PanelWare Panels series. It provides text and simple graphic feedback to a connected controller, so alarms, counters, and setpoints can be viewed or adjusted from the front of a machine cabinet. It links to a PLC or motion system so operating states remain visible at the point of use, which is useful on packaging, handling, and general machine modules. In daily operation, the panel serves as a dedicated human-machine interface for menus, status messages, and command entry without requiring a separate computer display.
The display uses a white LCD with a resolution of 128 × 240 pixels. For text-based pages, it also supports a layout of 16 × 40 characters, and each character is 4 mm high; single, double, and quadruple font sizes can be used to improve readability at different viewing distances. The screen is fixed in landscape orientation and shows black information on a white background, which suits menu pages and status lists. The housing measures 350 × 220 × 38.6 mm, which helps it fit shallow control panels where space behind the door is limited. Once installed with its gasket, the front face is rated IP65, and the control circuitry draws 300 mA at 24 VDC from the machine supply, allowing it to share a common low-voltage source with nearby control devices.
The keypad contains 47 keys in total, giving the interface a layout that supports direct selection and routine data entry. Among them are 14 yellow LED-equipped keys for frequently used machine functions, while another 30 keys are assigned to alphanumeric entry and navigation through on-screen pages. Because interaction is handled through hard keys rather than a touch grid, the controls remain consistent when simple tactile input is preferred. Display illumination is provided by a CFL miniature fluorescent tube backlight, which gives even brightness across the screen and supports clear contrast for black characters on the white background. The front plate is made of aluminum, adding rigidity and helping the gasket maintain a consistent seal during panel mounting.
