The 4D1164.00-K02 operator panel is produced by B & R Automation as a member of the 4D PanelWare Panels series. This unit is intended to present machine status and accept commands within distributed control systems. It combines a compact display, onboard electronics, and standardized wiring so a local human-machine interface can be added without placing a full PC in the cabinet. It can be used where operators need direct access to status screens, alarm messages, and basic command entry at the machine.
In operation, the panel draws 135 mA at 24 VDC, a low current requirement that simplifies power distribution from a standard control supply. Its viewing surface is a graphics-capable LCD module that switches automatically between a text interface and pixel addressing. In graphics mode, it renders at 128 × 240 pixels, allowing logos, trend plots, or mimic diagrams to be shown. Text mode reorganizes the same screen into 16 lines × 40 characters, which is suitable for alarms or parameter lists. The two display modes let the same hardware present both structured text pages and simple graphical layouts. The panel also survives a peak linear shock of 150 m/s² on any of the three mounting axes, which is equivalent to 15 g during handling or transport. An individual pulse may last up to 11 ms and still remain within the qualified range.
While running, the housing may be subjected to a sinusoidal acceleration of 9.8 m/s² with an amplitude of 0.075 mm across each principal axis for 20 cycles, and the assembly will keep functioning. This condition corresponds to a frequency sweep that results in a base excitation of 1 g without pixel flicker or data loss. That vibration tolerance supports use on panel doors, mobile equipment, or high-speed production frames where motion and impact are routine. It also helps the interface remain readable in moving or vibration-prone installations.
