Product Description:
The 0TB103.91 Terminal Block of B & R Automation is a well-engineered cage clamp terminal block, which is useful in securing reliable electrical connections. Its firm wire retention is ensured by cage clamp technology, which enables maintenance-free operation under mechanical and thermal stress.
The 0TB103.91 terminal block has a 3-pin female configuration with three individual wire termination positions, optimal for space-constrained industrial use. This terminal block is designed with a nominal voltage of 150 V and is compatible with low-voltage power distribution in automated applications. This terminal block supports a nominal current of 15 A on each contact to ensure a consistent current-carrying capacity for varied signal and power distribution needs. The wire compatibility of this terminal block is limited only to copper conductors to provide excellent conductivity and rule out the hazard of corrosion created by aluminum wires. This terminal block is suitable to be use with AWG sizes 26 to 12, encompassing most of the common wire gauges used in the automation systems. The contact resistance of this terminal block is 5 mΩ or less, and make sure that loss of energy is minimal, as well as signal integrity is assured throughout the contact points.
For single-wire applications, this terminal block accommodates conductors whose cross-sectional area is 0.20 mm² to 2.50 mm² to provide wide room for field wiring applications. With a 5.08 mm pitch, the 0TB103.91 has plenty of space between terminals, thus allowing the wiring to be done in an orderly fashion without occupying large amounts of space. This terminal block is made as per the pollution degree 2 type classification of EN 61131-2, suitable for circumstances with moderate conductive pollution and occasional condensation. The plastic-insulated end sleeve of this terminal block is specified between 0.20 mm² and 1.50 mm² to enhance connection stability and prevent accidental conductor strand breaking.
Frequently Asked Questions about 0TB103.91:
Q: Why is the cage clamp design used in the 0TB103.91 Terminal Block?
A: The cage clamp design allows for quick, secure connections without using tools. It ensures stable contact under vibration and thermal cycling.
Q: How does the 5.08 mm pitch benefit compact wiring setups?
A: This pitch provides adequate spacing for terminal access while minimizing panel width. It supports dense mounting without causing interference between terminals.
Q: Why is the contact resistance specified as ≤5 mΩ in 0TB103.91?
A: Low contact resistance ensures minimal energy loss and better conductivity. It also reduces heating at the contact points under load.
Q: What advantage does the 15 A per contact rating offer?
A: It supports medium-current applications such as actuators and motor controllers. This ensures reliable performance without frequent component upgrades.
Q: How does pollution degree 2 affect terminal block selection?
A: It defines suitability for environments with only non-conductive dust or occasional moisture. This helps users match the product to installation conditions.
