The 0RMSM1135.4G-US is an industrial communication gateway produced by B & R Automation within the 0RM GateManager Modules series. The device establishes secure remote access between plant-floor controllers and supervisory networks, allowing equipment to be configured, diagnosed, or updated from a remote location. Designed for DIN-rail installation inside control cabinets, the module combines wired Ethernet and cellular links so that automation assets remain reachable when local network connectivity is unavailable.
At its core, an ARM Cortex-A5 processor running at 563 MHz executes firewall, tunneling, and protocol-conversion tasks. The gateway provides a copper Ethernet interface that negotiates data rates up to 10/100 Mbit/s with connected switches, supporting stable links to PLC networks. Despite continuous encryption workloads, the electronics draw no more than 5 W, simplifying cabinet power allocation and thermal planning. The IP20 enclosure protects the circuitry against accidental finger contact and is suitable for installation inside indoor control cabinets. The housing measures 107 mm high, 32 mm wide, and 97 mm deep, leaving additional room on crowded DIN rails while maintaining access to its connectors.
The cellular section connects through an SMA female connector and supports LTE bands B2, B4, B5, and B17 as well as WCDMA bands B2 and B5. Through these cellular networks, the modem achieves a downlink rate of 50 Mbit/s and an uplink rate of 25 Mbit/s, allowing software packages and diagnostic logs to move quickly in both directions. The wired port maintains reliable signaling over cables up to 100 m long, so the module can be installed at the edge of large machines or production areas. With a mass of only 0.5 kg, the unit places a minimal load on light-duty DIN brackets while accommodating the radio equipment and power-conditioning hardware within its compact housing.
