Product Description:
The 0RMSM1135.4G-EU is a communications gateway module produced by B & R Automation for the 0RM GateManager Modules series. Installed in control panels, it links machines to remote service networks so that PLCs, drives, and HMIs can be accessed securely from off-site locations. By combining wired Ethernet with cellular connectivity, the module fits industrial automation projects that require continuous diagnostics without separate routers or firewalls.
An ARM Cortex-A5 processor running at 563 MHz handles protocol conversion and encryption, providing the processing capacity needed to manage network traffic. Average power draw is only 5 W, so cabinet heat load stays low and uninterruptible power systems remain compact. The shielded RJ45 port supports a line speed of 10/100 Mbit/s, providing sufficient bandwidth for software updates and real-time tag monitoring on standard plant networks. When wired links are unavailable, the integrated LTE modem achieves a downlink throughput of 50 Mbit/s, supporting VPN tunnels that carry high-resolution HMI screens. Uplink transmission peaks at 25 Mbit/s, allowing rapid uploads of log files or recipe data from the machine to remote servers.
The housing carries an IP20 rating, providing protection against accidental finger contact and making the module suitable for dry, protected enclosures. Its radio section covers LTE bands B1/B3/B7/B8/B20/B38/B40, allowing operation on diverse regional carriers, while fallback UMTS support on B1 and B8 maintains service where 4G coverage is limited. The module has a mass of 0.5 kg, permitting DIN-rail mounting without additional support. The aluminum body measures 107 mm tall, 97 mm deep, and 32 mm wide, leaving more backplate space available for contactors or relays. A female SMA connector secures the external antenna and provides a low-loss connection to rooftop or panel-mounted whip antennas.
