The 0RMSM1135 is a communications gateway in the 0RM GateManager Modules series from B&R Automation. The module installs beside controllers and sensors to provide routed access for remote maintenance systems and SCADA hosts, replacing on-site visits with secure IP links carried over wired Ethernet or cellular networks. By exposing plant data to higher-level software, it supports condition monitoring and fast parameter updates within industrial automation cells.
A processor clock of 563 MHz drives the onboard logic, so protocol handling, firewall rules, and encryption routines are executed without delaying field traffic. The Ethernet interface supports a rate of 10/100 Mbit/s, which is the maximum throughput available to PLCs connected to the LAN port. Cabling can extend up to 100 m when standard Category 5e media is used, matching the supported reach of the physical layer. Power draw is limited to 3 W, an advantage in cabinets where low heat dissipation is important for temperature-sensitive electronics.
