The 0RMSM1115 is an industrial Ethernet gateway manufactured by B&R Automation for the 0RM GateManager Modules series. The unit aggregates field devices on an Ethernet segment and forwards traffic to higher-level networks, allowing centralized supervision of drives, I/O nodes, and controllers from a single access point. By embedding firewall and routing functions in a compact housing, it simplifies remote maintenance in automated production lines while isolating critical control traffic from the plant backbone.

At the core of the module is an ARM Cortex-A5 processor clocked at 563 MHz, providing enough processing capacity for encrypted tunnels and real-time packet inspection while limiting power demand to 3 W. The device port and uplink interface support data rates of 10/100 Mbit/s over the IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX physical layers. Autonegotiation and full-duplex capability select the optimal link mode automatically, while the uplink interface terminates on a shielded RJ45 connector. Integrated line transformers support Layer 1 signal integrity, and store-and-forward switching logic maintains consistent packet throughput across connected network segments.

The extruded aluminum enclosure is designed for cabinet installation and carries an IP20 protection rating, making the module suitable for clean, dry control panels. The housing measures 32 mm in width, 97 mm in depth, and 107 mm in height, giving it a compact footprint alongside standard control equipment. Its total mass is 0.5 kg, allowing snap-on mounting to a DIN rail without additional supports. Cat 5e or better twisted-pair cabling may extend up to 100 m between the module and a network switch. The enclosure passively dissipates heat from the electronics, and collision-free transmission supports simultaneous sending and receiving across active connections.
