Product Description:
The 0PS3400.1 is a DIN-rail power module produced by B&R Automation for the 0PS Power Supplies series. It converts three-phase mains power into a stabilized 24 V rail for PLC backplanes, distributed I/O, and motion controllers installed in the same cabinet. By maintaining constant voltage under load, the unit provides stable logic levels and actuator signals in automation cells.
The supply provides a nominal output of 24 VDC ±1%, keeping downstream electronics within a tight tolerance band. It can deliver up to 40.0 A of continuous current, so a single unit can feed multiple axis controllers or fieldbus couplers. The maximum electrical output is 960 W when the full rated current flows at the nominal voltage. When connected to a 400 V AC network, the input stage draws 3 × 2.0 A, which helps determine breaker and cable requirements. A displacement power factor of 0.76 indicates the phase relationship between current and voltage and may influence harmonic filtering requirements. The input-to-output insulation withstands 4 kV AC, while the I²t value of 1.3 A²s indicates the energy that internal fuses must interrupt during short-circuit events. Heat dissipation reaches 87 W at full load, while idle losses are limited to 11 W to reduce standby consumption. Protection Class I grounding is required to protect against electric shock.
The supply operates without derating at elevations up to 4000 m above sea level, allowing installation in high-altitude plants. Its enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, preventing fingers from contacting hazardous internal parts while permitting cooling airflow. The unit has a mass of 3200 g, which must be considered when selecting and securing the mounting rail. Its required cabinet depth is only 190 mm. A width of 139 mm and a height of 130 mm allow the module to fit on standard 300 mm-deep panels while leaving room for adjacent contactors and network switches.
