Product Description:
The 0PS3400.1 is one of B&R Automation’s largest power supply modules under the exquisite 0PS product line. Weighing 3200 grams, the 0PS3400.1 comes with a galvanized steel sheet enclosure and aluminum side panels. It has a width of 139 millimeters, a height of 130 millimeters, and a depth of 190 millimeters. Like other B&R power supplies, it features a top-hat rail for DIN rail or wall mounting. As a large power supply, the 0PS3400.1 can achieve a typical output power of 960 watts during steady-state operation. At this operating condition, the output current can achieve a mean value of 40 amperes.
Although the 0PS3400.1 can safely transmit a continuous output current of 40 A during operation, the output current may derate beyond 55 degrees Celsius by some factor. Specifically, for every degree Celsius of temperature increase, the 0PS3400.1’s output can derate by 2.5%. Unlike other 0PS modules manufactured by B&R Automation, the 0PS3400.1 is meant for three-phase systems and applications. The nominal input voltage range for this device is between 400 to 500 VAC at a frequency range of 45 to 65 Hz. At most, however, the 0PS3400.1 can support a maximum two-phase or three-phase input voltage of 575 volts.
As a power supply module, the 0PS3400.1 employs various safety and protection schemes against faults. Ideally, the 0PS3400.1 can withstand an internal overvoltage of up to 35 VDC and transient surges using a varistor. The 0PS3400.1 has a typical switch-on time of less than one second and a power factor of 0.76. For electrical devices, the power factor represents the ratio of real power to the total power consumed. With an output power of 960 watts, the rated power loss of the device can reach 87 watts.
Frequently Asked Questions about 0PS3400.1:
Q: What type of cooling system does the 0PS3400.1 employ?
