The 0PS1040.0 is a power supply module produced by B&R Automation as part of the 0PS Power Supplies series. It converts industrial AC mains into a regulated direct-current rail for PLC CPUs, distributed I/O nodes, and sensing devices. The module’s compact footprint allows placement beside terminal blocks inside a control cabinet, providing an integrated source of low-voltage power for automated machinery. This arrangement reduces the distance between the supply and connected control equipment, helping simplify internal cabinet wiring.
At the output, the unit maintains 24 VDC ±1% with a continuous load capability of 4 A, keeping logic circuits within their permitted voltage tolerance. An operating efficiency of >88% limits self-heating and supports a power dissipation of 12 W under load. A built-in 3.15 A slow-blow fuse protects the primary side from sustained overcurrent while tolerating brief startup surges. Input-to-output isolation of 3 kV AC separates the control electronics from hazardous mains voltage. The supply has an IP20 degree of protection, making it suitable for installation in ventilated panels that prevent direct access to live components. Downstream equipment receives a power-good signal after the internal DC bus passes the 21.5 V threshold. A rise time of 0.3 ms allows contactors, relays, and connected control devices to energize quickly during startup.
