Product Description:
The 0PS104.0 is a DIN-rail-mounted power supply manufactured by B & R Automation as part of its 0PS Power Supplies series. Designed for compact control enclosures, the unit accepts a single-phase utility feed and provides the regulated direct current required by PLC CPUs, sensor gateways, and motion controllers. By isolating plant electronics from raw mains disturbances, the supply supports stable logic operation and reliable machine sequencing in industrial automation cells.
The primary side accepts 115/230 VAC and uses automatic voltage selection, so no manual jumper is required when the supply is moved between compatible networks. Its single-phase input allows the device to share the branch circuit that serves auxiliary panel equipment without the balancing constraints associated with three-phase hardware. On the secondary side, the supply delivers a regulated output of 24 VDC, which is the common control voltage used by many logic and actuation devices. Continuous load capacity reaches 4.2 A, enabling the source to provide approximately 100 W across relays, HMI backlights, and encoder power rails while maintaining the output voltage within tolerance. This regulated output helps prevent connected control components from being affected by normal variations on the incoming utility feed.
The supply is cooled by natural convection, eliminating the need for a fan and its associated moving parts. An internal fuse disconnects the circuit if an overcurrent event exceeds the permitted limit. The unit also tolerates reverse power from the load at voltages up to 35 V. The housing snaps onto a top-hat rail, and field wiring is secured with cage-clamp terminal blocks that resist loosening under vibration. The unit can operate at up to 95% noncondensing humidity, allowing installation in sealed cabinets where humidity may be elevated but condensation is prevented. Its molded case measures 75 mm high, 73 mm wide, and 103 mm deep. A weight of only 360 g minimizes the mechanical load placed on lightweight panel assemblies.
