Product Description:
The 0GH-PS740 is a power supply module manufactured by B&R Automation and assigned to the 0GH PLC Modules series. Installed in a PLC backplane, it converts incoming AC mains into regulated DC for logic rails. It also offers relay contacts for field signaling, enabling continuous operation of controllers and their connected sensors. This arrangement supports centralized control power and keeps external status signaling tied to the same supply assembly.
This module is 285 mm tall and occupies a panel depth of 185 mm, so enclosure space must allow rear clearance for airflow and cable routing. It accepts line voltages from 90 VAC up to 270 VAC, giving it flexibility for single-phase networks worldwide. Within that range, the unit draws a maximum of 1.1 A and delivers 100 W of usable power on its DC rail. The regulated output appears on front terminals at 28 V, supporting CPU loads and peripheral cards without external converters. Protection against sagging and surges is built in, as the input rectifier withstands half-value interruptions as short as 1.3 ms and an internal limiter blocks overvoltage peaks up to 750 V. A slow-blow fuse further isolates the supply path, while the relay section uses normally open contacts for straightforward integration with monitoring circuits.
Additional safeguards improve operating reliability during switching events and brief line disturbances. The replaceable fuse carries a rating of 1.6 A and works with transient suppression that can absorb 2.5 kV pulses from inductive loads. For control loops that energize pilot actuators, the relay contacts can switch up to 2 A without damage. The housing width is 40 mm, which allows dense rack layouts where neighboring modules must fit within a narrow mounting pitch. Its narrow profile also leaves more room for adjacent I/O, terminal blocks, or communication modules in the same cabinet section.
