The 0GH-EX302 expansion component is an I/O module produced by B & R Automation for the 0GH PLC Modules series. Acting as an add-on element for a central controller, it allows additional field signals to be integrated into a machine network and forwarded to the CPU over the designated expansion medium. Within an automation rack, it occupies a single slot and serves as a master on its local bus, coordinating subordinate modules so that discrete and analog channels can be scanned or driven in real time by the control program.

Because its bus role is an Expansion Master, the module can manage up to 10 bus segments and address 20 direct modules without performance loss. Two onboard connectors provide 2 expansion ports that accept the specified expansion cable and link to remote baseplates such as BP200, BP201, BP210. Supplying additional logic and sensor power only demands 3 W from the backplane, so heat dissipation and power-supply sizing remain modest even when the permitted segment count is fully populated.
