Product Description:
The 0GH-DO650 is a discrete output module produced by B & R Automation as part of the 0GH PLC Modules series. Designed for rack-mounted controllers, it interfaces the CPU with field circuits that require switched power rather than logic-level signals. By embedding electromechanical relays on the card, the module lets a PLC actuate external loads such as contactors, pilot lights, or pneumatic valves. This arrangement also keeps the controller electronics electrically separated from connected field wiring.
Each of its 16 channels uses a normally open relay contact, so current flows only when the coil is energized. The outputs share a supply of 120 VAC / 24 VDC, which supports common AC control transformers and DC power supplies used in industrial panels. A steady load of 2.0 A per point is permitted, and the relays tolerate an inrush of 12 A / channel to start inductive devices without nuisance trips. Four groups of four outputs can each draw 8 A, while channel-to-PLC isolation and group-to-group isolation help limit fault transfer. Contact resistance is 100 mΩ, which helps reduce heating at rated current. With a 10 Hz switching frequency, the card suits moderate-speed actuation tasks and can detect very small loads without requiring an interposing relay.
The relay contacts can handle up to 144 VAC / 30 VDC, and breaking capacity is capped at 300 VA / 90 W to protect the silver alloy surfaces from arc damage. Across all groups, the assembly may carry a combined 32 A, so current budgeting must respect both the group and total limits during panel design. The stated IP20 housing allows finger-safe installation inside a protected cabinet. The isolation arrangement helps maintain predictable switching behavior between field wiring and the PLC, especially where multiple loads are switched from the same rack.
