Product Description:

The 0GH-DO430 digital output module is produced by B&R Automation and belongs to the 0GH PLC Modules series. Designed for mounting in standard rack carriers, the unit supplies transistor switching signals that allow a controller to actuate solenoids, contactors, and indicator circuits within an automated cell. By converting the controller’s logic states into field-level power switching, it forms the interface between low-level PLC commands and 24-volt loads. Despite its 285 x 40 x 185 mm dimensions, the module still fits within compact enclosures.

Each of the module’s 32 outputs is a transistor sink designed for loads referenced to the common 0 V rail. The outputs are arranged in four electrically isolated groups of eight, which simplifies field wiring and fault containment. At a nominal supply of 24 VDC, every channel can deliver up to 2 A of load current and can be switched at frequencies as high as 500 Hz. High-speed tasks benefit from a channel switching delay of only 100 µs, allowing precise pulse generation for stepper drives or valve timing. Isolation between groups also permits mixed inductive and resistive loads without mutual disturbance.

The entire module can handle up to 48 A of total output current, with an upper limit of 12 A on each isolated group to prevent excessive bus loading. Internal protection clamps surges to 55 V, and thermal or overcurrent trips are cleared automatically after a 350 ms delay. When a short circuit draws 7 A or more, the affected channel is latched off until the fault disappears, helping keep the PLC backplane stable. Even in idle states, the output stage leaks only 1.5 mA, reducing unintended actuator energization. Typical internal losses amount to just 2.9 W, which helps keep cabinet temperatures low while surrounding devices remain within their thermal limits.

Internal Product Review

  • ‘‘The 0GH-DO430 is a transistor PLC output module with 32 outputs. Four isolated output groups support clean load segmentation, and a 500 Hz switching frequency allows responsive control in fast digital applications. A 48 A maximum current per module makes this unit an excellent fit for high-density output architectures.’’
