Product Description:
The 0GH-DI476 digital input module is produced by B&R Automation for the 0GH PLC Modules series. Mounted on a standard System 2005 rail beside a CPU slice, the unit converts discrete field signals into logic-level events that the processor can evaluate for sequencing and safety tasks. Within automated machinery, it acts as a compact interface that transfers status information from sensors, switches, and interlocks to the programmable logic controller, enabling timely program decisions without external adapter boards.
The module operates at a nominal field level of 24 VDC, and it supplies 16 digital channels to the processor through the backplane. Internal electronics draw only 1.5 W, which helps limit temperature rise in densely packed racks. A hardware filter with a response time of ≤1.2 ms suppresses contact bounce so that status transitions are captured reliably. The housing carries an IP20 protection rating, meaning the terminals are finger-safe when the slice is mounted inside a closed control cabinet. No external fuses are required because the backplane feed is protected by resettable links that return to service after a fault is cleared.
For layout planning, the slice occupies a System 2005 single-width slot. It can be clipped directly into the primary rack during initial assembly or added later as an expansion because the module supports both base-unit and expansion-unit installation. The inputs are arranged in 4 groups; channels within each group share a common reference, so there is no channel-to-channel isolation, while group-to-group barriers and full channel-to-PLC optocouplers are provided. Field wiring may be connected in a sink or source configuration, giving flexibility for different polarity schemes. Front-face LEDs indicate the I/O function of each channel, which helps with troubleshooting without a laptop.
