Product Description:
The 0GH-DI475 digital input module is manufactured by B&R Automation as part of the 0GH PLC Modules series. It attaches to a System 2005 backplane as either a base or an expansion unit and adds isolated 24 V sensing points to a programmable logic controller. Within an automated line, the module translates field-level contact or transistor signals into the logic-voltage domain so the controller can respond to limit switches, proximity sensors, and push buttons. It is intended for machine I/O tasks that require dependable detection of standard sensor and switch states.
Each of the sixteen discrete channels operates at a nominal control voltage of 24 VDC, and the module accepts up to 16 inputs arranged in 4 separately isolated groups. A per-channel input resistance of 4.8 kΩ establishes the current drawn from the field device, keeping leakage low when the sensor is energized. Overall internal loss is limited to 1.5 W, so cabinet thermal loading remains minimal during normal operation. The input circuit can be wired as sinking or sourcing, giving flexibility when matching PNP or NPN sensors, and optocouplers provide both group isolation and PLC-side isolation to protect downstream electronics. This arrangement supports common industrial sensor types without requiring separate interface relays. Typical recognition time for a logic change is 10 ms, while the maximum delay does not exceed 12 ms.
The housing carries an IP20 rating, permitting installation in enclosed panels where only finger protection is required. Input terminals tolerate up to 30 VDC in steady-state operation, and short transients can reach 500 V for 50 µs without damaging the optocouplers. The board occupies a System 2005 single-width slot, leaving room for adjacent modules on the rail. Its narrow format suits dense PLC racks where channel count must increase without taking a double-width position. The stated voltage and transient limits apply to the connected input wiring and panel installation.
