Product Description:

0GH-DI425 is a digital input module from B&R Automation in the 0GH PLC Modules series. Designed for rack-mount controllers, the unit converts field-level signals into logic-level data for programmable automation, enabling discrete sensing of limit switches, proximity sensors, or pushbuttons on production machinery. Its opto-isolated architecture shields the processor bus from ground loops, and the slim housing helps preserve enclosure space in multi-axis or high-I/O systems.

The module operates from a nominal field supply of 24 VDC, while the front-end circuitry tolerates up to 30 VDC without damage, covering common control cabinet power rails. Each input presents an impedance of 4 kΩ, so leakage currents from two-wire sensors stay low and do not cause false states. Internal optocouplers and buffering limit total dissipation to 6 W at full population, which is important when sizing cabinet power supplies. Once a voltage transition is detected, the input circuitry registers a state change after a typical propagation delay of 10 ms, a response suitable for contact signals while still helping suppress electrical chatter.

Under worst-case timing, the debounce and filter network can extend recognition to 12 ms, which still satisfies many safety interlocks. The card offers 32 digital channels arranged as eight groups of four, and this layout permits independent sensor commons while supporting sink or source wiring within each group. Optocoupler barriers provide group-to-group as well as input-to-PCC isolation, and they withstand transients up to 500 V for 50 µs per 100 ms, improving immunity to inductive loads on adjacent machinery. The module measures 40 mm in width, 185 mm in depth, and 285 mm in height, which keeps its profile consistent with other 0GH I/O cards and allows dense installation without additional clearance.
