Product Description:
The 0GH-D0479 is an output expansion module produced by B & R Automation for the 0GH PLC Modules series. It attaches to a system bus and supplies sourcing transistor outputs that drive solenoids, indicator lamps, or interposing relays in distributed control cabinets. Within an automated cell, the unit translates logic levels from the CPU into field-level switching signals, allowing the controller to actuate field devices without additional interface hardware. Its compact format also lets it be added alongside other I/O modules where cabinet space is limited.
The module operates from a nominal field supply of 24 VDC, and each channel can source up to 0.5 A of continuous load current. Internal power traces are rated for a maximum module draw of 8 A, while each galvanically separated group is limited to 4 A so branch fusing can be sized locally. Digital switching remains reliable up to 500 Hz, which suits fast pneumatic valves and rapidly changing indicator outputs. Group isolation is provided, reverse-polarity protection disconnects the output stage if supply leads are crossed, and front LEDs show the state of each channel during operation.
The card offers 16 outputs arranged as two banks of eight, so the channels can be distributed across separate loads or panel sections. Off-state leakage does not exceed 0.3 mA, which helps prevent unintended energizing of sensitive coils, and the housing carries an IP20 rating for installation inside closed control panels. External sensor logic is powered through a dedicated rail that may supply up to 4.0 W, while the module’s own electronics consume 1.0 W during operation. The output transistors are protected against reverse polarity and fast inrush, and total group current is supervised by the PLC to remain within allowable limits.
