Product Description:

The 0GH-AM051 analog current module is manufactured by B&R Automation for the 0GH PLC Modules series. It combines four input and four output current channels so a controller can read or drive 0–20 mA process signals that are common in sensing and valve actuation loops in industrial automation equipment such as packaging lines, mixers, and material handling stations. It mounts on the system backplane and shares field power through the bus, allowing tight integration with ladder or IEC 61131-3 logic.

Each of the four differential input channels accepts 0–20 mA signals and is digitized with 12-bit resolution, giving 4096 discrete counts across the range. A front-end impedance of 50 Ω minimizes burden voltage on loop-powered transmitters, while the input filter rolls off at 450 Hz to suppress high-frequency noise. Under 25 °C conditions, the module holds input gain and offset within ±0.1 %, and the direct-coupled design achieves a common-mode rejection of 55 dB in DC applications. Channel isolation prevents interaction, and measured crosstalk between adjacent inputs is -66 dB. Because the successive-approximation converter finishes in <1 ms, the controller can scan all four inputs well inside a standard control cycle, keeping process data fresh for PID or interlock logic.

The four current outputs share the same galvanic domain but can drive individual control elements. Each channel sources up to 20 mA with matching step resolution, and accuracy remains within ±0.15 % at 25 °C when loaded. The analog section includes a Butterworth filter that attenuates beyond 1 kHz, so rapid setpoint changes are delivered without excessive ripple. Loads as high as 600 Ω are permissible without derating, enabling direct connection to valve positioners or signal isolators. Even with every channel active, module demand on the backplane stays below 6.5 W, leaving headroom for adjacent stacks.
