The 0AC808.9-1 interface converter is produced by B & R Automation and belongs to the 0AC Interface Converters series. It functions as a Layer 2 hub that expands Ethernet connectivity inside control cabinets, allowing PLCs, drives, and visualization panels to share data across the same copper segment. By regenerating signals and matching electrical levels, the hub maintains deterministic communication required for industrial automation networks.

The hub is powered from a nominal supply of 24 VDC; this low-voltage input aligns with common control-cabinet power rails. Under maximum load it consumes 3 W max, corresponding to a peak current of 150 mA max, so heat generation remains minimal. An IP20 housing protects the electronics against finger contact and settled dust, and the enclosure depth is only 86 mm, leaving space on DIN rails for additional modules. Automatic polarity crossover is available through the auto-MDI/MDI-X feature, and autonegotiation simplifies link setup with diverse Ethernet nodes.
