The EK1300 coupler uses EtherCAT Terminals in the EtherCAT P network. The EtherCAT P combines both power and communication in a single 4-wired Ethernet cable. The upper EtherCAT P interface is used to connect the coupler to the network whereas, the lower M8 socket can be used for EtherCAT P topology continuation if needed. On the EK1300, the power supply and the communication line is integrated on a single line. This eliminates the need for an additional power supply for the coupler. The power supply is EtherCAT P 24 V for U_S and U_P. The maximum current is 3 A per U_S and U_P.

The EK1300 weighs approximately 175 g and the permissible operating temperature is between 0˚C to 55˚C. The permissible relative humidity is 95% with no condensation. The EK1300 has vibrations that conform to EN 60068-2 and shock resistance that conforms to EN 60068-2-27. This EtherCAT P Coupler has a protection class of IP 20. It can also be installed in various positions and must be mounted on a 35 mm mounting rail that conforms to EN 60715. The EK1300 is CE approved. This EtherCAT P Coupler also has integrated distributed clocks. These clocks allow for accurate synchronization when multiple devices are connected.
