The EK1110-0043 is an EtherCAT EJ coupler from BECKHOFF. This model is designed to provide direct connectivity between the CX series embedded PCs and the EJ modules on a customized PCB. This EJ coupler does not require an additional power supply as it draws the required power from the PSU of its host CX series embedded PC. In typical operating conditions, the EK1110-0043 consumes around 50 mA of current. With this model, you will be able to construct and operate an EtherCAT based control system without involving the EtherCAT extension (EK1110). Moreover, the use of coding pins eliminates the possibility of incorrect connections.
This model is capable of working with any EtherCAT protocol and offers a maximum data transfer rate of 100 Mbits/s. The deployment of this device involves no cabled connections as it comes with a 24-pin rear connector which transfers the (24 VDC) peripheral voltage, (3.3 V) E-bus side supply voltage as well as E-bus signals through PCB tracks. This IP20 rated EJ coupler can easily be mounted on a 35 mm DIN- rail without any involvement of special tools. Permissible operating temperature range for this device is 0 °C to +55°C.
The EK1110-0043 comes equipped with dedicated, diagnostic LEDs to indicate the status of the field side (UP) supply voltage and the status of the E-bus signals (UE-BUS) power supply. Whereas, the RUN LED provides quick information about coupler`s current operating state. This EtherCAT EJ Coupler weighs around 50 grams and its physical measurements are 44 mm x 100 mm x 68 mm. This model is fully compatible with the TwinCAT system manager. You can configure and commission the EK1110-0043 as an EtherCAT device by using a standard personal computer.
