Embedded PCs are primarily used for control tasks in most factories. Beckhoff produces the CX series. The CX5120-0135 is designed with I/O modules that significantly save on space in control cabinets. This embedded PC can be tailored to meet your task complexity, performance class, and budget owing to its modular design. It combines hardware PLC and Industrial PC which makes it ideal for all control tasks. The DIN rail unit allows you to connect only the required components reducing installation cost and power consumption.

The CX5120-0135 comes with an Intel Atom processor which has a 1.46 GHz clock rate. The interfaces found in this embedded PC are identical to the CX5000 series. These interfaces include four USB connections, a DVI connection, and two Ethernet connections. The optional interface enables extra connections which can include PROFIBUS, audio, and CANopen, among other interfaces. It comes with a TwinCAT 3 runtime (XAR) environment which makes it ideal for implementing PLC/Motion or PLC control whether with or without visualization. CX5120-0135 runs on Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB 64 bit. It has one core processor, a CFast and MicroSD slot, and a static 2GB RAM main memory.

There are several diagnostic LEDs for easy reading such as flash access, power, bus status, and TC status. CX5120-0135 has a battery-powered clock that displays time and date regardless of the time zone. Other features include an E-BUS automatic recognition I/O connection, a 24 V DC power supply, and a 2A current supply. When loading UPS it has a maximum power consumption of 18W. The mechanical data include an approximate weight of 860g and dimensions (W x H x D) of 124mm x 100mm x 92mm. It is also protected against external substances with IP20 protection.
