The CX2000 family of embedded PCs is manufactured by Beckhoff. It features a modular design that is intended for installation on a DIN rail. This scalable system allows the installation of basic PC modules, extension modules, power supply units, and system modules in a control cabinet as required. The CX2030-0120 falls under the CX2030 series and works with Bus terminals for recording analog and digital signals from sensors and transferring them to actuators. Like other CX2000, the CX2030-0120 combines the world of Industrial PCs and hardware PLC to perform control tasks.

The Beckhoff PC comes with basic components such as CPU modules, battery pack and Fieldbus module. It features a basic configuration with a DVI-I interface, four USB 2.0 interfaces, and a CFast card slot. The 128KB NOVRAM persistent memory can be used as an alternative to an external battery pack or UPS. It stores important data in case of power failure. The CX2030-0120 Intel Core i7 2610UE dual-core CPU comprises a graphic controller namely Intel HD graphics 3000 core that improves performance. It uses the Mobile Intel QM67 Express chipset that provides interfaces such as DVI-I and four USB 2.0.

The CX2030-0120 comes with a Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7 P 32bit operating system, passive cooling, and four status LEDs. Its emission and vibration class conform to EN 61 000-6-4 and EN 60068-2-6 requirements. Ambient conditions include 95% relative humidity, -25 to 60 degrees operating temperature and -40 to 85 degrees storage temperature. The extended operating temperature range enables it to operate in demanding environments. It has an IP 20 protection category. You should mount it in a control cabinet to protect it against external objects and liquids.
