The AX5000 is a series of compact digital servo drives developed by Beckhoff. This series is developed to be used specifically with EtherCAT. Multiple AX5000 devices can be connected to form one unified powerful AX5000 system.

The AX5206-0000-0202 is part of the AX5000 series of dual-channel servo drives. This drive features scalable, wide motor range motor current measurements and high-speed capture inputs. It also has an effective energy management system and active DC-link. The DC-link voltage for this drive is 875 C DC (max). The AX5206-0000-0202 has several safety features such as Safe-torque off, overvoltage protection, and intelligent TwinSAFE safety function. Optional safety functions for this drive include adding external unit to offer protection against any inadvertent restart of the drive axis.

The AX5206-0000-0202 uses the EtherCAT system bus and SERCO^TM profile that conforms to IEC 61800-7-204 (SoE). This servo drive has an IP 20 protection and must be installed in a control cabinet without and dust or water ingress. The AX5206-0000-0202 is EAC, CL, and cULus approved. It can be operated at a maximum temperature of 55°C. The AX5206-0000-0202 has a power loss of 160 W and a DC-link capacitance of 470 µF. This drive uses a 2.0 hardware version with firmware version ≥ 2.10. To store and recover brake energy efficiently, additional DC-links can be installed on this servo drive. An external brake module unit with an internal braking resistor of 250 W can be installed.
