The board converts low-level voltage or current references into controlled solenoid current for proportional valves, allowing hydraulic actuators to follow electronic commands in presses, injection machines, and test stands. By matching the spool position to the reference signal, the module forms the interface between a PLC or motion controller and the KHDG5V-5/7/8 zero-lap valve family used for precise flow or pressure control.

The card operates from a 24 VDC x 50 W supply, and internal circuitry blocks damage if polarity is reversed. The driver can source up to 3.2 A for full-stroke valve operation, while an auxiliary rail of +15 V powers external sensors. With the command input at zero volts, output current is limited to 1.7 A so spool drift is avoided during standby. If the incoming voltage falls below the <18 VDC shutdown point, the card disables the drive stage to protect the hydraulic loop. Fault monitoring is handled by an alarm channel that can deliver 50 mA maximum through a 50 Ω resistor, while a separate out-of-range output can sink 100 mA maximum to flag excessive command deviation. A 10 kΩ monitor node permits oscilloscope observation of valve current without disturbing the loop. These status outputs allow the control system to detect alarm conditions and excessive command deviation during operation.
