Product Description:
The EEA-PAM-533-A-33 is a plug-in power amplifier card manufactured by Vickers and supplied within the EEA-PAM Power Amplifiers series. In industrial automation, it conditions analog command signals and produces regulated solenoid current so that proportional hydraulic valves follow electronic set points for pressure or flow. Mounted in a Euro-card rack, the module interfaces with valve coils, diagnostic test points, and controller wiring without requiring external heat sinks.
The card operates from a nominal supply of 24 VDC and its internal circuitry is rated for up to 50 W of continuous power dissipation. It accepts a differential command of ±10 V through a 47 kΩ input, or an alternative current reference of ±20 mA that sees 100 Ω impedance. With no input voltage the board draws 0.3 A, while the controlled output can rise to 2.7 A to drive a proportional valve solenoid. Alarm circuitry provides a collector output of 50 mA maximum for fault indication. For feedback and monitoring, test point MP1 is buffered by a 10 kΩ output impedance, and MP2 reproduces the spool position as a ±10 V signal at full stroke.
Physical parameters suit standard cabinets: card height is 175.24 mm and width is 128.4 mm. The factory-trimmed deadband is set to 10% of max spool stroke, meaning small input changes below this level do not move the valve, and the open-loop gain is preset to 10%/V so one volt of command shifts the spool by a tenth of its stroke. Overall mass is only 330 g, easing handling during field replacement. Input current at MP terminals is limited by the previously noted impedances, and the board’s 10 kΩ buffer ensures stable readings during dynamic tests.
