Product Description:
The EEA-PAM-511-D-32 is a plug-in power amplifier card produced by Vickers within the EEA-PAM Power Amplifiers series. Designed for proportional valve control, the module conditions command and feedback signals so that a hydraulic actuator receives precise current-driven spool positioning. By combining ramp generation, feed-forward paths, and LVDT feedback on one board, the amplifier simplifies motion loops in industrial automation cabinets and integrates with standard ±10 V controllers.
Its control electronics are powered from a 24 V DC supply, and the voltage command path presents 47 kΩ of input impedance, minimizing source loading from PLC analog cards. A separate current command route is available with 100 Ω impedance for transducer-based control. For anticipatory flow changes, the feed-forward node draws into a 6 kΩ input, while the drive output at zero signal maintains 50 Ω resistance to match proportional valve coils. These electrical interfaces set the gain structure and noise immunity for closed-loop hydraulic positioning.
The amplifier accepts position feedback from an LVDT secondary that is energized by a +15 V internal supply; sensor returns see 1 MΩ input impedance, so cable loading is negligible. The internal ramp generator uses a 10 kΩ input impedance, and its active output is buffered through 10 kΩ resistance to shape acceleration or deceleration without overshoot. Mechanical form factor follows a DIN 41612 F48 male connector, with a 50.3 mm width, 122.4 mm height, and 175.24 mm depth; total mass is 0.4 kg, allowing dense rack installation. Dual reference outputs deliver 5 mA at +10 V or −10 V to drive external set-point potentiometers without additional power supplies.
