Product Description
The L840-012 is a super motor series from Sanyo Denki; the motor maintains a superior operation performance through its high operation efficiency, low noise, and energy-saving operation. Also, the cogging torque of this servo motor has been reduced by up to half when compared to conventional motor designs. This “Super” motor is built with a housing that provides protection according to IP43, which makes it possible to easily withstand dust and water penetrations. The motor is a permanent magnet-excited device that belongs to the thermal class F and has an insulation resistance of at least 10 mega-Ohms or more. The motor supports both forward and reverse rotations; its dielectric strength is also determined to be about <<1500 volts. The operation of this industrial motor in an environment where vibration is present, such as in moving vehicles or shipping vessels, is not permitted. Also, any modification or alteration to the motor design should be avoided.
The L840-012 can be used in a wide range of applications, including medical, transport-related equipment, aviation or processing equipment. The motor bearings holding the brake are life-limited parts; these may be replaced by operators based on the results of the actual equipment evaluation. The rated output of the L840-012 motor is about 400 watts; it also operates with a rated armature voltage of 80 volts and provides a rated torque of approximately 1.53-newton meters.
The typical operation speed of the L840-012 motor design is determined to be about 2500 revolutions per minute, however it can reach a maximum speed of 4000 revolutions per minute when it is supplied with a maximum current of about 40 amperes. During operation, this motor maintains a rated power supply rate determined to be about 4.7 kilowatts per second, and its voltage constant is also about 32.9 x 10-3 volts per minute.
