The PC834-104-N model is designed by Kollmorgen to provide high efficiency under extreme operating conditions. The PC834 module is highly recommended to be used together with the parts and modules specified by the supplier. The PC834 brushless servo drive is equipped with an RS232/RS485 command interface for developing a connection with the PC and the other I/O modules. The operating parameters of the drive are installed in the RAM memory of the unit. The unit is engineered to control the torque, velocity, and position of the servo motor. For accurate position detection, the unit is equipped with a resolve, encoder, or comcoder according to the required operating conditions. The PC834 brushless servo drive can take supply input directly from the 3-phase 180 – 265 VAC power source through its L1, L2, and L3 terminals. The power is supplied to the electrical motor via U, V, and W terminals. The servo drive takes motor feedback through its J3 serial port and it communicates via the serial interface. A regenerative brake resistor is recommended to install with the respective module to provide protection against high voltage effects.

The model PC834-104-N is protected against major solid particles but it is not protected against water that’s why it must be installed in the switch cabinet of prescribed ingress protection. With natural convection cooling mode, the drive consumes the rated current of 7.1 A, and it uses 10.6 A of rated current at forced cooling mode.
