The 1NF-20B mains electromagnetic interference filter is produced by Kollmorgen as part of the Mains EMI Filters series. It is intended for installation on single-phase supply lines that power servo drives, embedded controllers, and instrumentation used throughout automated machinery. The device attenuates high-frequency noise that would otherwise propagate from the utility network into connected equipment.

The filter carries a continuous IEC rating of 20 A / 250 VAC / 50 Hz, allowing it to support rated loads on compatible European power branches when suitable circuit protection is provided. Differential inductance of 2 × 3.5 mH forms the core of the network and provides its midband impedance. Earth leakage is limited to 5.2 mA, reducing nuisance trips of residual-current devices, while a discharge resistor of 1 MΩ drains stored charge after shutdown. The topology uses a compact single-stage design that simplifies insertion-loss calculations. Screw terminals accept conductors up to 4 mm², and the internal X capacitors of 2.2 µF and 1 µF pair with Y capacitors of 10 nF and 47 nF to shape differential-mode and common-mode responses. The unit is rated for the 25/100/21 climatic category, with temperature limits from -25 °C to 100 °C and a 21-day damp-heat test duration.

North American installations can use the UL/CSA rating of 20 A / 125 VAC / 60 Hz, providing the same current capacity on 120-volt mains. The metal enclosure has an ingress protection rating of IP20 and belongs to Protection Class I, so a protective earth connection is required. The ground stud accepts M6 hardware for a secure, low-impedance bond. The unit is marked for single-phase operation to clarify the required phase assignment during wiring. With a mass of 0.93 kg, the filter can be mounted on a suitable rail or backplate without additional structural support. Its screw connections maintain the low-impedance electrical bonds required for the Class I protective grounding arrangement.
