The KSM 11/-2 is one of the various programmable logic controllers by Kollmorgen in its KSM series. These PLCs aid in emergency shutdown functions. The controller can be operated only if the output relays have a maximum of 24V switching voltage. The module must always be subject to de-energization before the signal lines are disconnected. The controller comprises a fail-safe control system and a digital I/O extension module.  The control system supports integrated drive monitoring if needed. The pulse outputs help to detect cross-shorts of the digital input signals. It also has monitored relay and HI-SIDE/LO-SIDE outputs for safety-related functions.
