The B-402-B-A3 is used frequently in modern industries. It is a highly efficient servo motor that is suitable for high acceleration rates because of its low inertia. Being a low inertia motor, the B-402-B-A3 is capable of high speed reciprocating motion. The system comes with an optional electromagnetic fail safe brake. The brake can provide 8 Nm torque for emergency braking/static parking and can be installed on the motor’s rear end. Besides, fail safe brakes, the servo motor can also be equipped with front mounted gearheads. The B-402-B-A3 generates 2.2 kW power and can reach a top speed of 3000 rpm. The motor comes with a significant torque advantage and maintains a high torque to volume ration because of a highly compact design.

The B-402-B-A3 has a continuous torque of 7.4 Nm and its peak current is 18.8 Amps. The motor comes with IP 65 and IP 67 standard sealing. It can be immersed in a water depth of 6 feet for half an hour. A direct-coupled brushless resolver is provided for feedback. The resolver remains protected by the motor housing and a wide variety of resolvers are compatible with this model. The system can also be used with mating connectors and NEMA mountings. With an explosion proof design, this model can function safely in hazardous industrial environments. The B-402-B-A3 has a DC tachometer. With a 0.6% average to peak voltage ripple, the system's motion is regulated smoothly at low speeds. The motor’s armature has a class H insulation that permits the motor to function at temperatures up to 180 ᵒC.
