The B-204-C-31-B3 is a servo motor that belongs to the GOLDLINE series. The series features low-inertia motors that are specifically designed to deliver in areas where instantaneous start-stop and rapid acceleration/deceleration are required. The B-204-C-31-B3 has a 13.6 kg mass and comes with IP 67 degree standard protection. IP 67 design standard ensures outer enclosure protection against low-pressure water jets and incursion of debris. Apart from the basic configuration, the servo motor can be equipped with front-mounted gearheads and fail-safe brakes. Additionally, NEMA mountings and mating connectors can also be used with the motor. The device has a compact design that translates into a high torque to volume ratio. The motor also comes with a built-in thermostat that protects the system against overheating by continuously monitoring the winding temperature.

The B-204-C-31-B3 can be operated underwater.  Specially designed sealant rings allow the motor to remain submerged in depths of up to 6 feet for durations up to 30 minutes. This model provides complete autonomous control over the motor’s speed and position. For this purpose, a resolver based corrective feedback loop is used. The feedback loop continuously compares actual and programmed values and adjusts errors as soon as they are detected. The most prominent feature of this servo motor is its explosion-proof design that allows the motor to operate in hazardous environments. The B-204-C-31-B3 has a UL approved design and it comes with class H insulation materials that can sustain temperatures within a range of 0 ᵒC to 180 ᵒC.
