The 60WKS-M240/12-PB is a servo amplifier designed and manufactured by Kollmorgen. It is one of the models that make up the company’s 60WKS series of servo amplifiers. It is compatible with the SM series of brushless and synchronous servo motors. It can be set up as part of a drive system for efficient speed and torque control. It supports a 4-quadrant (4-Q) operation and is equipped with a 3-phase output stage to enhance this function. The rated output current for its 4-Q operation is 12 A.

The 60WKS-M240/12-PB uses trapezoidal commutation in its operation with servo motors for higher overall torque and the elimination of torque ripple as the current switches between phases. Undervoltage and overvoltage monitoring are enabled in this model, with colored LED lights serving as indicators for these parameters. Its motor-winding also comes with an inbuilt temperature-sensitive monitor, and it is cooled by forced ventilation.

The 60WKS-M240/12-PB can deliver a peak output current of 30 A for up to 5 seconds. Its rated DC link voltage is 240 V, and it can be used with an external 24 V auxiliary supply. An external ballast circuit is not required for its use as it is equipped with an inbuilt ballast circuit. The continuous power of the ballast circuit is 135 W. This servo amplifier is designated a pollution level 2 rating according to EN60204 / EN50178. The pollution level rating means that it is suitable for use in an environment with non-conductive pollution and infrequent temporary conductivity due to condensation. It also has an IP 00 rating but has a touch-proof power connections area. It should be operated at an ambient temperature, not more than 40° C, and a maximum altitude of 1000 m.
