Product Description:
The 15.F5.C1G-190F is an inverter module produced by KEB as part of the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Positioned between the mains supply and a three-phase motor, the unit modulates voltage, current, and frequency so the automation controller can impose precise velocity and torque profiles. By converting fixed-frequency input into regulated output, the drive supplies closed-loop motion for packaging stations, winding equipment, and material-handling lines while eliminating the need for bulky mechanical speed controls. This control method lets the inverter respond quickly to changing load demands while keeping motor operation smooth during acceleration, deceleration, and steady-state running.
At its heart, the drive provides an auxiliary output that conveys status pulses at TTL levels, permitting direct interfacing with PLC high-speed counters. For position feedback, it includes a Hiperface interface, so an absolute encoder can transmit multi-turn data over a bidirectional serial channel. The power stage is rated for 15 HP, enabling it to energize mid-frame induction or permanent-magnet machines without external gear reducers. Mechanical layout follows the G housing form factor, establishing consistent mounting holes and airflow clearances across the cabinet row. An internal braking transistor is fitted, letting the DC link dissipate regenerative energy during rapid deceleration cycles without an external chopper.
The inverter carries size code 15, which identifies the heat sink and semiconductor set used for medium-duty machines. When the supply network is 230 V, the unit still delivers its maximum output under the Unit B designation. The F5 platform uses a consistent connector layout across the series, and the C1G version keeps that layout while including dedicated braking components. That arrangement helps keep cabinet layouts orderly when several axes are installed in the same enclosure.
