Product Description:
The 12.F5.C1D-1A0A is an AC axis drive manufactured by KEB and assigned to the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. In machine tools, packaging lines, and handling modules, the unit converts fixed mains power into variable voltage and frequency so a controller can modulate motor speed and torque inside a closed-loop automation cell. It also forms the electrical link between fieldbus commands and the electromechanical load, providing fast current regulation and integrated brake-energy handling.
The inverter accepts a three-phase input of 230 V AC and belongs to size code 12 within the platform, giving it a fixed installation footprint. Under dynamic acceleration, it can supply up to 35.6 A, while its continuous capability is suited for motors up to 5 HP. Current is switched at selectable carrier frequencies of 8/16 kHz, balancing acoustic noise and switching loss. Control loops refresh every 2 ms. The eight digital inputs can be wired for PNP or NPN logic, and the transistor outputs are limited to 50 mA in total. Regenerative energy is handled by the GTR7 braking chopper together with the factory-installed braking transistor. Protection against accidental contact is provided by the IP20 housing, and the motor PTC evaluation circuit shuts the drive down if the embedded thermistor indicates overheating.
An internal control bus supplies 24 V DC for the logic inputs, encoder power, and fault signaling, while the onboard relay is limited to 30 VDC / 1 A to prevent contact damage. Steady-state torque production is governed by a rated output of 16.5 A, allowing continuous service without thermal cutback. Process variables presented on the analog channel are digitized at 12 bit resolution, enabling fine speed trimming at low frequencies. The analog channel supports precise low-frequency adjustment, and the control bus also powers encoder and fault-signaling circuits for closed-loop operation.
