Bosch Rexroth is the top designer and manufacturer of high-performance drive systems in the world. It is a system of AC drive converters, inverters for DC supply, rectifier modules, and more. The three-phase universal drive system has various applications for synchronous and induction motors. One of the modules that make up the system is the advanced RD 52.1 drive converters and inverters.

The RD52.1-7N-160-R-V1-FW is one of the inverter models in the RD 500 drive system. It belongs to Size Class G with a power rating of 160 kW and uses a DC connecting voltage within limits of 530 V to 670 V. For the elimination of heat from the device, liquid cooling with an internal pump is applied here. The inverter operates at variable pulse frequencies ranging up to 12kHz for different outputs. When no line supply voltage is connected to it, an additional 24V power supply can be used to keep it in operation. Some of the functions that can be performed with this standby power supply include parameterization of data sets and the operation of field buses.

The degree of protection of the RD52.1-7N-160-R-V1-FW is IP 20 according to EN 60529. This is because it does not admit solid extrinsic objects larger than 12 mm, so it cannot be damaged by the entry of such objects. With its modular construction, it is designed for mounting in control cabinets and side-by-side mounting without intermediate spaces.
