The RD51.1-5B-004-L-CF-FW is an advanced 3-phase drive system from the RD 500 product line from Bosch Rexroth. It is designed to be cooled through forced air cooling. Bosch recommends a minimum air flow across the operating RD51.1-5B-004-L-CF-FW drive of 0.3 cubic meters per seconds. If this amount of recommended air flow will not be available, then the ambient temperature will not be maintained within the recommended range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. This will cause the internal drive temperature to exceed safe limits and will damage the drive. Safety instructions listed in the product documentation should also be implemented during drive handling and installation. The personnel involving in drive installation and operation should possess the relevant training and experience. They should also follow industry safety precautions during working on the drive system and associated machinery.

The RD51.1-5B-004-L-CF-FW features a converter with integrated brake chopper which is rated for 3-phse AC power supply with 500 Volts AC. The output power rating of the drive is 4 kilowatts. Additional functions supported by the drive include connection for RZC01.1-XN and 24 Volts DC standby power. The standby power feature offers several benefits including ability to parameterize the drive and enable control electronics operation when the AC supply is disconnected. The RD51.1-5B-004-L-CF-FW has an IP 20 protection rating. For protection from water and dust ingress, Bosch recommends that the RD51.1-5B-004-L-CF-FW should be mounted indoors inside a suitable switch cabinet. Commission of the RD51.1-5B-004-L-CF-FW can be performed from a PC running the RDwin control software. An optional user panel can also be used for this purpose. Persons with metal implants should not be allowed to go near an operating RD51.1-5B-004-L-CF-FW. This product can be shipped globally with a one year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
