The RD 500 drive system is a three-phase current drive system with universal applications for different synchronous and induction motors models. It is built with a modular design that enhances its flexibility to be tailored to specific configurations as desired by the user. This high-performance unit is easy to operate and complies with the EMC directives on noise immunity and noise emission. This is because its drive converters are built with integrated interference filters. Its uses are seen in chemical and processing technology, machine tools, food packaging machines, handling and assembly systems, and hoist and conveyor technology.

The RD51.1-4N-007-L-CF-FW is an RD 500 drive converter with the U/f curve control method for motion control. Its operation requires the use of a three-phase AC voltage supply between 300V and 480V with an allowance of ±10% and a maximum nominal frequency of 60Hz. There is no inbuilt brake chopper in this model, but it supports the use of an external 24 V standby power supply. With this additional power supply, the device can be operated even without a line supply voltage connection. It supports the use of firmware as specified by the manufacturer, which can be ordered separately.

With forced-air cooling, heat is effectively dissipated from the RD51.1-4N-007-L-CF-FW. Its power rating is 7 kW, and it can be operated at different pulse modulation frequencies up to 12 kHz. The drive converter belongs to Size Class A and the protection category IP 20 according to EN 60529. This protection rating means that it will not admit solid extrinsic objects more significant than 12 mm. The suitable ambient temperature for its operation is a maximum of 40° C.
