The RD51.1-4B-090-L-V1-FW is a converter-based drive controller with 90 kilowatts rated output. The drive converter includes an integrated brake chopper. Input rating of the converter is 380 to 480 Volts AC (three-phase). Technical data for the brake chopper include 55 kilowatts continuous power, 260 kilowatts peak power for 1 second and 2.5 Ohms minimum resistance.  The size class of the RD51.1-4B-090-L-V1-FW is E and its weight is 74 kilograms. The drive cools through forced air cooling which requires a fan or blower to force air across the heated surface of the drive. The minimum required airflow for cooling is 0.4 cubic meters per second. The environmental class of the drive is 3K3 and the permitted operating temperature is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. The recommended range of installation site altitudes is 1000 meters.

The utilization of the RD51.1-4B-090-L-V1-FW drive must be derated for installation altitudes above 1000 meters. The output derates by 17% at 2000 meters altitude. The area used for drive installation should be dust-free. Dust-laden air should be cleaned by using air filters. The relative humidity should not exceed 90% and condensation is not allowed. The air in the operating environment should not contain aggressive gases or vapors or electrically conducting gases. The RD51.1-4B-090-L-V1-FW dissipates heat during operation and should be separated from other heat-sensitive devices. An additional function available on the drive is 24 V external standby power. This feature allows control electronics on the drive to operate in the absence of the main AC supply. The backup supply feature also allows the drive to be parameterized in the absence of the main AC supply. Firmware for the RD51.1-4B-090-L-V1-FW supply has to be ordered separately.
