The Bosch RD51.1-4B-018-D-D1-FW is a universal AC drive. It is widely used for motor control in industrial applications. The rated motor output of the drive is 18.5 kilowatts. The converter on the drive includes a brake chopper and is rated for 380 to 480 Volts AC. The RD51.1-4B-018-D-D1-FW drive supports two additional features including connection for RZC01.1-ST with NAMUR terminal strip and 24 Volts DC standby power. The standby power feature requires an external 24 Volts DC power supply. With standby power the control electronics on the drive can operate in the absence of AC input. The drive can also be parameterized in the presence of standby power even if the AC mains is disconnected. The RD51.1-4B-018-D-D1-FW uses a plug-through cooler for dissipation of heat that is generated during operation.

The IP20 rated housing of the RD51.1-4B-018-D-D1-FW weighs approximately 10.3 kilograms. Unused drives should be stored in an environment that is clean and dry. The temperature of the storage area should be between -25 and 70 degrees Celsius. Temperature variations greater than 20K per hour are not permitted. The converter and supply modules use AL electrolytic capacitors as DC link capacitors. When not under power, these capacitors can be stored for a maximum duration of two years at a temperature that is less than or equal to 40 degrees Celsius. The area where the RD51.1-4B-018-D-D1-FW is operated should be dust-free. Filters should be used to clean air that is dust-laden. The required ambient temperature range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in the operating area should not exceed 90% and condensation is not allowed.
