The RAC 2.3-200-460-A0D-W1 main spindle drive controller is suitable for numerically controlled machine tools when used as main spindle drives. The automatic internal position control loop positions the spindle automatically in response to a signal. The Servo axis(C-axis) operation is controlled by the AC main spindle with RAC 2. The main spindle drive even provides optimum performance at low speeds.

It has an integrated mains contractor and emergency stop switch, which means that the energy generated during braking can be transmitted back to the three-phase supply network. The cooling units are built into the housing for the RAC main spindle drive controller. An air shaft guides the air through the cooling unit. Both the internal and external control cabinet can be used to cool the RAC Drive Controllers. The RAC 2.3-200-460-A0D-W1 can supply an additional modular main spindle controller due to the presence of a link circuit connection and control voltage bus.

In the case of mandatory servicing, only the controller needs to be exchanged. This is because of the fact that the programming module can be reused in the new controller. The product comes with numerous interface options with additional encoder input, synchronous input, speed set points, and additional interface. The main spindle drive controller performs optimally in the temperature zone of 5 to 45 degrees. The controller is also optimized to work in humid conditions such as workshops in cold or warm climates. The controller is not resistant to water and physical penetration or brute force. The unit is manufactured in accordance with the  DIN VDE 0160, Sec. 5.5.1.3 and 6.5.1.3, which allows it to be mounted into a control cabinet or sealed housing.

The RAC 2.3-200-460-A0D-W1 main spindle drive controller operates on 300 A and has a rated voltage of 3 x AC 400V/50Hz, 3 x AC 460V/60Hz. The speed setpoint is analogue (+/- 10 V) and there is no additional encoder input. It has a Rated position value, digital (16 bit-parallel) as the additional interface, and without additional bleeder. It also comes with an inbuilt cooling fan.
