The RAC 2.3-200-460-A00-W1 is a main spindle drive controller which is part of RAC 2 series from Rexroth Indramat. Drives based on RAC 2 drive controller support wide speed range with continuous power which makes them suitable for applications involving numerically controlled machine loads. Spindle drives with RAC 2 controller also have internal position control loop which supports maximum resolution of 1/4000000. Spindle drives with RAC 2 controllers are capable of operating the spindle as a servo-axis with very high precision. The RAC 2.3-200-460-A00-W1 can be operated with either 3-phase 460 Volts AC input at 60 Hertz or 3-phase 400 Volts AC input at 50 Hertz. Current rating of the spindle controller is 200 Amps. Integrated features available on the controller include cooling fan, mains contactor and emergency stop switch.

Features which are not available on the controller but which can be ordered separately include additional encoder input, bleeder and additional interface. The RAC 2.3-200-460-A00-W1 features analog speed set-point (+/- 10 Volts) for connection to conventional CNC controls. RAC 2 controllers can also be ordered with digital speed set-point as well as SERCOS interface. Rexroth recommended operating temperature range of 5 to 45 degrees Celsius for controller operation. Furthermore, the controller should be installed at altitudes that are less than or equal to 1000 meters. Relative humidity (non-condensing) should be below 70%. The RAC 2.3-200-460-A00-W1 is designed for vertical mounting and measures approximately 1000 x 460 x 320 millimeters. Minimum horizontal clearance of 125 millimeters should be provided so that hose which carries air from outside the cabinet can enter the cabinet without an excessive amount of bend. The heatsinks and air shafts need to be kept clean to prevent overheating of the controller. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
