Bosch Rexroth makes a Thyristor-based compact and high performance Power Unit, designed and manufactured for use with welding transformers. The PST610E.101-W Thyristor Power Unit is typically formulated for harsh and heavy duty industrial welding applications. The product can be used with welding-transformer up to 76KVA power capacity. The product certify a proven industrial experience in metal-welding applications. The Thyristor Power Unit is a two-Phase AC power unit with integrated Weld timer and a high accuracy weld transformer.  The product has compact design and offered as portable metal box that is easily customized to several pluggable modules, offered by Bosch-Rexroth. The lengthy cabling of the older welding setup are minimized with the invention of this versatile and compact power unit.

The Thyristor-power-unit is intended with air-cooling feature. Minimum clearance of 100mm on bottom and top side of the unit must be provided for better air-circulation when installed. The Power unit may be damaged due to thermal overload if appropriate cooling and air-circulation is not provided. The Power Unit has several built-in sensors for temperature, power overload, over-current and over-voltage monitoring. The front panel of the power unit is provided with various integrated module connectors and openings like, parallel I/O interface, serial I/O interface, fieldbus I/O interface, optional fieldbus programming interface, quality module (optional) and a battery compartment. The unit operates on mains input supply ranging from 400 to 600 VAC and the product can handle current up to 130Amps. The unit Weights approx. 12.5 kg and can be mounted up in vertical position or with its back (on mounting plate). The PST610E.101-W Thyristor Power Unit is designed according to industrial regulations and certify to IP20 and IP 54 protection category.
