The Bosch PST6100.280-L is a thyristor power unit. It is designed for use with welding transformers rated for maximum 76 kVA. Rated voltage for the power unit is 400 to 600 Volts AC at 50 / 60 Hertz frequency. The unit comes with a metal oxide varistor (MOV) for overvoltage protection. The rated continuous thermal current for the power unit is 130 Amps. The PST6100.280-L is air cooled and supports integrated control function. The PST6100.280-L can be either mounted on a real panel or by the left side panel for which a mounting cutout is required. Weld timer is integrated into the power unit. A slot for optional communications interfaces is available on the PST6100.280-L and can be used for installation of serial, parallel or fieldbus communication modules. The thyristor power unit also includes a slot for retrofitting a quality module.

Housing of the PST6100.280-L has IP 20 protection rating and as per recommendation from Bosch it should be installed in a cabinet which has IP 54 protection rating.  Integrated temperature monitoring is available on the unit. Maximum ambient temperature around an operating unit should not exceed 55 degrees Celsius. Recommended temperature range for storage of unused thyristor power units is -25 to 70 degrees Celsius. The air around an operating or stored PST6100.280-L should be free of corrosive agents, salts, metal vapors and acids. Condensation of moisture on the unit must be prevented. Humidity class of the power unit is F as per DIN 40040. Recommended relative humidity at 20 degrees Celsius is 90% and at 40 degrees Celsius is 50%. Maximum recommended installation altitude for the unit is 2000 meters above sea level. This unit can be shipped globally with a one-year warranty period from Wake Industrial.
